Jordan Harper is a staff writer on CBS's The Mentalist.

He was a member of the 2009 Warner Bros. Writer's Workshop. His fiction has appeared in Thuglit, Out of the Gutter and Demolition and the anthology Hardcore Hardboiled. His short story “Johnny Cash is Dead” was shortlisted for a Derringer Award and selected by the Million Writers Award as a notable short story of 2005. “Like Riding a Moped” was selected by the Million Writers Award as a notable story of 2006 and will appear in the upcoming anthology Sex, Thugs & Rock n Roll. He is adapting the story into a screenplay. "Red Hair and Black Leather" was selected as a notable short story in 2008 Best American Mysteries.

Jordan was born and educated in Missouri. He’s worked as an ad man, a scalper and a professional teevee watcher.He is the former music editor of St. Louis’s Riverfront Times and former DVD critic for Village Voice Media. His reviews and articles have appeared in the Village Voice among other papers. Here are a few of his favorites.
